Fresh Whole Irish Chicken

Delicious, grade A whole chicken. Perfect for a roast for the whole family and available in variable weights (1.3kg and 1.7kg) to suit all family sizes.

  • Remove all packaging. Place in a roasting tray and cover loosely with foil. Cook in the centre of a preheated oven at 190°C/fan 170°C/gas mark 5 for 45 minutes per Kg plus 20 minutes.
  • Remove foil for last 30 minutes of cooking time.
  • Poultry is cooked if the juices run clear when the deepest part of the flesh is pierced with a thin skewer. If the juices are pink, continue cooking for a few minutes and retest.

Serving Suggestions

For a succulent and flavoursome roast, stuff the chicken with lemon and thyme before cooking. Serve with all the trimmings and golden roasted potatoes for that special weekend treat.
